Fowl Mood Racing Set to Resume 2012 Racing Season; Next On Track Activity Schedule for April 14th and 15th at Can Am Motorsports Park

After starting the racing season in Florida almost two months ago, the Fowl Mood Racing team, and driver Phil Potts have been hard at work rebuilding their car after a hard wreck at East Bay Raceway in the Nesmith Chevrolet Late Model Series. The team is looking forward to getting back on the track to start their local racing season.

The first on track activity is set for next weekend, as Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park will host an open practice on Saturday and Sunday, April 14th and 15th. The team will be back at Can Am the following Saturday night for the 2012 season opener, and will race their through the end of April before opening night at Brighton Speedway on May 5th.

“We got off to a rough start this year in Florida, but the team has worked hard since then on the new car, and we are really looking forward to getting back to the track next weekend”, says driver Phil Potts. “We have a new color scheme this year, and hopefully we will have a good year in 2012”.

Fowl Mood Racing will race weekly at their hometown track Brighton Speedway through the 2012 racing season. They will also run the Go Nuclear Late Model Series this year, with events scheduled at Mohawk International Raceway on June 8th, Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park on June 20th, Brighton Speedway on September 8th for the Great Crate Race, back to Mohawk International Raceway on September 14th and 15th and the series finale at Brockville Speedway on October 12th.

“The Go Nuclear Series is a really good thing for us Late Model races. We get to do a little traveling this year, and visit some other tracks, adds Potts. “We look forward to visiting Mohawk Raceway three times this year. It is one of nicest places that we have ever raced at”.

In addition to their weekly schedule at Brighton, and the Go Nuclear Series, the Fowl Mood Racing team hopes to run a couple races with the World of Outlaw Late Models. The team may run the June 22nd event at Autodrome Granby in Quebec as well as the June 24th event at Cornwall Motor Speedway.

“It is a tough deal running against the World of Outlaw guys, but they are the best of the best and it is exciting racing with them”, says Potts. “We haven’t decided for sure, but we may run these two shows and see how we stack up against them”.
