Fowl Mood Racing Looking For Home Track Advantage as 3rd Annual Great Crate Race Takes Place This Saturday Night at Brighton Speedway

The 2013 season did not go exactly the way Phil Potts and the Fowl Mood Racing team had envisioned prior to the drop of the first green flag of the season back in May. Early season frustrations eventually gave way to a couple wins after some hard work and determination from the entire Fowl Mood Racing team.

With the biggest event of the season on the horizon with the 3rd annual Great Crate Race this weekend, the entire season could be made with just one race, with $5000 to win, a total purse in excess of $20000, and the prestige of winning such a big event on the line. This race was originally scheduled for September 7th, but was postponed due to rain, as was last weekend’s Applefest Weekend classic and final points race.

“We haven’t had much luck in the first two Great Crate Race events, so hopefully we can turn that around this year”, says Fowl Mood Racing driver Phil Potts. “It sure would make our season to pull out a win the biggest event of the season”.

After the Great Crate Race, the Fowl Mood Racing team will have a few weeks off before competing at Brockville Speedway on October 20th for their Go Nuclear Late Model Series event.

Fowl Mood Racing would not be possible without the support of our sponsors. We would like to thank Hutchinson Fuels, Indewey Excavating, Vanderlaan Building Supplies, Bill’s Johns, Gord’s Water Service and Brighton Recycling Inc. for all their support throughout the 2012 season, and we look forward to another great season in 2013.

Fowl Mood Racing Gets Third Consecutive Top Five Finish at Brighton Speedway on Sunday Night; Great Crate Race Coming Up This Weekend

With a win and a top five finish during the past two weeks at Brighton Speedway, Phil Potts and the Fowl Mood Racing team were hoping they could build on their recent success as they enter the final month of the 2013 season. This past weekend the Fowl Mood team had a rare Saturday night off as the Late Models were on the Sunday portion of the Labor Day Classic Weekend at Brighton.

Potts started his qualifying heat race at Brighton Speedway from the fourth position, and maintained that position through the finish. The 30 lap Late Model feature had Potts starting from the outside of row four in the eighth position. After avoiding an early race incident, Potts quickly moved to the front of the field. The end result was a strong second place finish and third consecutive top five.

“It feels good to be running competitively here again the last few weeks after a slow start to the season”, says Potts. “We have some big events coming up and hopefully we can continue to run well”.

This coming weekend will be one of the biggest for the Fowl Mood Racing team as Brighton Speedway hosts the 3rd annual Great Crate Race. This event will draw cars from Ontario, New York and possibly as far as Pennsylvania and Ohio for the lucrative $5000 to win payday. The following weekend the team will be at Mohawk International Raceway for the Mohawk Nationals Weekend with events on both Friday, September 13th and Saturday September 14th. All three of these events are part of the Go Nuclear Late Model Series.

Phil Potts and the Fowl Mood Racing team are gearing up for a couple big events over the next few weeks including the third annual Great Crate Race at Brighton Speedway on Saturday night. The team will also participate in back to back events at Mohawk International Raceway on Friday, September 13th and Saturday, September 14th. The 2013 season at Brighton Speedway comes to an end on Saturday, September 21st with a double points night as part of the Applefest Shootout Weekend.
