Fowl Mood Racing Scores Fourth Place Finish at Brighton Speedway; Final Points Night Coming up This Saturday Night
After a third place finish in his qualifying heat race, Potts started the 30 lap feature from deep in the field in 14th place. He rebounded from a lap 20 spin to storm through the field in the final 10 laps to score the fourth place result.
“It wasn’t the way we wanted to end the night. Our goal right from the beginning of the season was to win the 2012 championship and we came up a little short”, says Potts. “We hope to come back here next week and get a win, and get ready for the big races that we have coming up on our schedule”.
The Fowl Mood Racing team has September 8th circled on their calendar, as Brighton Speedway hosts the Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series in conjunction with the Great Crate Race $5000 to win event at the track. The following week, the Go Nuclear Late Models return to Mohawk International Raceway for a weekend double header on September 14th and 15th.

Fowl Mood Racing Scores Top Five Finish on Opening Night at Can Am
After being rained out last week, Phil Potts and the Fowl Mood Racing team were anxious to get back on the track. Their new Rocket Chassis performed well during the practice session at Can Am two weeks ago, and they were looking forward to seeing how well it would work under racing conditions.
In the six lap qualifying heat, Potts started from the eighth position, and advanced to fourth at the checkered flag. It was a good run for the team, and when the car arrived back in the pit area, they made some minor adjustments, before the 25 lap main event. After starting at the back of the feature, Potts advanced to the top five before the checkered flag.
“We had a good run tonight, the car was great”, says Potts after the race. “With the sprint cars here, the track was really slick, and made it difficult to pass. Overall it was a good night though”.
On Sunday, the team stayed close to home as their home town track hosted a practice session in preparation for their season opener this coming Saturday night. The Fowl Mood Racing team will also practice on Wednesday night.
Saturday night will be the first race of the 2012 season at Brighton, and Potts and the Fowl Mood team are looking forward to starting their season on their home turf.
“We always love racing here at Brighton. This is home to us. Traveling to other tracks is exciting too, but our we love our home town racing”, adds Potts.

We would like to thank Hutchinson Fuels, Indewey Excavating, Vanderlaan Building Supplies, Bill’s Johns, Gord’s Water Service and Brighton Recycling Inc. for all their support, and we look forward to a very exciting 2012 season.

Fowl Mood Racing Ready For 2012 Season Opener This Saturday Night at Can Am Motorsports Park
After a good test session with their brand new Rocket Chassis on Saturday afternoon at Can Am Motorsports Park, Phil Potts and the Fowl Mood Racing team are ready to resume the 2012 racing season.
Saturday turned out to be a great day for practice, and the team hit the road and headed to Can Am Motorsports Park to shake their new car down, in preparation for the season opener this coming weekend. Phil and the team were able to make several runs, and discovered some minor issues that they were able to resolve quickly.
“It was a good test session for us. We had some minor issues that we had to fix, but nothing serious”, says driver Phil Potts. “The new Rocket chassis handled great, and I can’t wait to get the season started this weekend”.
The Fowl Mood Racing team will race at Can Am the first two weeks, before their home track Brighton Speedway opens for the season on Saturday, May 5th. The team will race at Brighton throughout the year, and also follow the Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series. The first series race is set for June 8th at Mohawk International Raceway in Hogansburg, New York.

Fowl Mood Racing Set to Resume 2012 Racing Season; Next On Track Activity Schedule for April 14th and 15th at Can Am Motorsports Park
After starting the racing season in Florida almost two months ago, the Fowl Mood Racing team, and driver Phil Potts have been hard at work rebuilding their car after a hard wreck at East Bay Raceway in the Nesmith Chevrolet Late Model Series. The team is looking forward to getting back on the track to start their local racing season.
The first on track activity is set for next weekend, as Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park will host an open practice on Saturday and Sunday, April 14th and 15th. The team will be back at Can Am the following Saturday night for the 2012 season opener, and will race their through the end of April before opening night at Brighton Speedway on May 5th.
“We got off to a rough start this year in Florida, but the team has worked hard since then on the new car, and we are really looking forward to getting back to the track next weekend”, says driver Phil Potts. “We have a new color scheme this year, and hopefully we will have a good year in 2012”.
Fowl Mood Racing will race weekly at their hometown track Brighton Speedway through the 2012 racing season. They will also run the Go Nuclear Late Model Series this year, with events scheduled at Mohawk International Raceway on June 8th, Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park on June 20th, Brighton Speedway on September 8th for the Great Crate Race, back to Mohawk International Raceway on September 14th and 15th and the series finale at Brockville Speedway on October 12th.
“The Go Nuclear Series is a really good thing for us Late Model races. We get to do a little traveling this year, and visit some other tracks, adds Potts. “We look forward to visiting Mohawk Raceway three times this year. It is one of nicest places that we have ever raced at”.
In addition to their weekly schedule at Brighton, and the Go Nuclear Series, the Fowl Mood Racing team hopes to run a couple races with the World of Outlaw Late Models. The team may run the June 22nd event at Autodrome Granby in Quebec as well as the June 24th event at Cornwall Motor Speedway.
“It is a tough deal running against the World of Outlaw guys, but they are the best of the best and it is exciting racing with them”, says Potts. “We haven’t decided for sure, but we may run these two shows and see how we stack up against them”.

Fowl Mood Racing Team Will Get an Early Start in 2012 as They Travel to Florida at the End of the Month to Compete at East Bay Raceway Park
The 2012 racing season will begin early for Phil Potts and the Fowl Mood Racing team, as they plan to travel to Tampa, Florida and compete at Easy Bay Raceway Park in the ultra competitive NeSmith Chevrolet Late Model Series.
The team will be looking to conquer the troubles that left them on the outside looking in during last year’s Winter Nationals at East Bay, in which the problems were later determined to be a faulty shock that disrupted the handling of the car.
“We were a little off the mark last year at East Bay, and we are looking forward to getting back there this year and putting up a better performance”, says Fowl Mood driver Phil Potts. “I really have to thank Stu and April Archer for giving me the opportunity, and all the crew that will be making the trip with us this year. We feel that getting the season started early will be a great benefit to our team once the racing season gets started up here at our own local tracks”.
Potts and the Fowl Mood team will be debuting a brand new color scheme on their Late Model during the Winter Nationals, and will have a couple new sponsors on board for the 2012 season.
The team will leave their shop in Brighton, Ontario on Saturday, January 28th and begin the 24 hour journey to Tampa, Florida and East Bay Raceway Park. The first on track action will begin on Wednesday, February 1st with an open practice session, followed by three consecutive nights of racing in the NeSmith Chevrolet Late Model Series on February 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
“We are thrilled to have Gord’s Water Service and Brighton Recycling on board with us for 2012. They will join the great group of sponsors that have been with us since we started this Late Model program, and we cant thank them enough for their contribution to our team”, adds Potts.

We would like to thank Hutchinson Fuels, Indewey Excavating, Vanderlaan Building Supplies, Bill’s Johns, Gord’s Water Service and Brighton Recycling Inc. for all their support, and we look forward to a very exciting 2012 season.
